About the piece: The idea of using the balcony of Rosch Recital Hall (at SUNY Fredonia) in a composition was given to me by my good friend Luca Vukelic. I imagined how having musicians both on the balcony and onstage could create an antiphonal effect for the listener. Throughout the work, ideas are exchanged between the two groups of musicians. Occasionally, they become unified to create a “surround sound” effect while other times, ideas are scattered between the front and back of the listener’s perception.
