Marbled Winds
About the piece: Marbled Winds seeks to explore different colors of the harp through harmony, gesture, and extended techniques. The title of this work can be split into several components. My initial inspiration for this piece came from watching marble races, hence the word “Marbled”. The ebband flow of these marbles influenced the gestures and changes in energy throughout the piece. These gestures are mostly continuous and light, thus invoking “Winds”. The word “marbled” can also be used to imagine different colors and winds swirling into each other, just like marbled
